Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC

Volunteers need to be 18 years of age or older to participate in the In School Mentoring Program where you will gain valuable volunteer experience while having fun spending time with a child at their school. Volunteers in the Teen Mentoring Program are matched with a Little Brother or a Little Sister for a minimum of ten weeks, but can also be matched for the duration of the school year. Volunteers in the Teen Mentoring Program need to be in grades 10-12 and between the ages of 16-18.  Volunteers in the Connect Group Programs are able to sign up for various groups throughout the year. Depending on the type of group, volunteers meet and connect with their Littles for 1.5 to 2 hours a week while participating in a variety of different activities. We provide all volunteers with the supplies needed to participate, as well as extensive training on how to facilitate fun and engaging groups!
