Mousewood Forest and Nature Early Learning and Family Centre is a newly licensed childcare centre. We are a grassroots registered nonprofit starting out as Prince George’s first forest and nature childcare centre. We believe all children these days should have more access to nature, outside, wild. And away from screens and stuck indoors. We are run by volunteers. But we only have four, unfortunately. And 3 have been called away urgently. And we need to finish our forest classroom this week by sunday july 13th at the latest.
We have several jobs that need doing. Fencing is the first one.
Our funding has fallen through so we cannot put up chain link fence this year. So we are fencing all the forest classrooms with temporary, plastic snow fencing held up with rebar that is pounded into the ground, then the fence gets zip tied onto the rebar.
This is a simple process. But can be pretty annoying if you hit rocks or tree roots when pounding the rebar in.
There are a lot of low bushes growing in because it is along the edge of the forest classroom and this task has been waiting for a while.
Please help us. The best times are anytime weekdays after 4pm and anytime saturday or sunday.
