Luminary Coordinator

Description

Relay For Life has united a collective of Canadians of all ages. They gather at a community space and take turns walking around a track or path to symbolize the perseverance and action needed to improve lives and change the future of cancer forever.

Relay for Life is a volunteer-led fundraising event. Volunteers are passionate and engage to make a difference for those of live with cancer! Join them to organize this unique event.

PROFILE REQUIRED
You are the ideal candidate for this role if you have:
• a positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation.
• a good network in your community.
• a strong interest on event planning.
• communication and interpersonal skills.
• time management skills.

RESPONSABILITES
As a volunteer committee member, you will be responsible for:
• Create a strategy for local luminary sales.
• Print online luminary sales report.
• Write text for luminaries purchased online.
• Install luminaries zone according to site plan.
• Provide material for luminaries (bags, lights, QR code, sand, labels, etc.).
• Provide luminary decoration materials for the luminaire zone.
• Plan how to dispose of luminaries at the end of the Relay.

COMMITMENT
This is a 10-month commitment (September to June) for which:
• Attend local committee meetings (20 meetings).
• Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 8+ hours per month).
• Must be available over the event weekend (Friday night to Sunday).

Must be 18+ to apply and complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct.
