The Registered Team Lead is responsible for supporting and engaging Relay For Life teams from registration through event day.
This volunteer serves as the primary point of contact for team captains, helping teams stay connected, informed, and motivated throughout the Relay season. By building relationships, coordinating team engagement initiatives, and encouraging participation, the Registered Team Lead helps create a positive and rewarding experience for every registered team.

Responsibilities
As the Registered Team Lead, you will:
- Support the recruitment and registration of new Relay For Life teams in collaboration with the Participants Lead.
- Build and maintain relationships with team captains throughout the Relay season.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for registered teams, providing guidance, resources, and ongoing support.
- Develop and coordinate team engagement initiatives, challenges, and friendly competitions to keep teams connected and motivated.
- Monitor team participation and proactively reach out to teams that may need additional support or encouragement.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising Coordinator to encourage team fundraising efforts and celebrate fundraising milestones.
- Work closely with the Participants Lead to ensure teams receive timely communications, registration updates, and event information.
- Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to highlight team achievements, milestones, and success stories.
- Attend committee meetings and contribute to the overall planning and success of Relay For Life.
- Support team check-in, engagement, and participant experience throughout the event weekend.
Commitment
This is a 10-month volunteer commitment (September to June) that includes:
- Attending approximately 20 local committee meetings.
- Completing independent role responsibilities (approximately 8+ hours per month).
- Being available throughout the event weekend (Friday evening through Sunday) to support event operations.

- Complete and adhere to the Canadian Cancer Society Code of Conduct.
