Relay For Life has united a collective of Canadians of all ages. They gather at a community space and take turns walking around a track or path to symbolize the perseverance and action needed to improve lives and change the future of cancer forever.

Relay for Life is a volunteer-led fundraising event. Volunteers are passionate and engage to make a difference for those of live with cancer! Join them to organize this unique event.

PROFILE REQUIRED
You are the ideal candidate for this role if you have:
• a positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation.
• a good network in your community.
• a strong interest on event planning.
• communication and interpersonal skills.
• time management skills.

RESPONSABILITES
As a volunteer committee member, you will be responsible for:
• Search venue options and make selection, with approval of the Director Logistics and CCS staff partner.
• Reserve venue and arrange payment.
• Apply for all necessary permits. Check with venue manager to determine what is required.
• Request proof of insurance from CCS staff partner and send to all stakeholders who require it. Have proof of insurance adjusted with names of additional insured(s), if any.
• Make equipment reservations (stage, tent, toilets, first aid, washrooms, electricity, security, transport, etc.)
• Create a site plan in collaboration with the Event Day Experience Lead and draw up the emergency plan.
• Plan site set-up and dismantling.
• Coordinate deliveries of CCS materials and materials reserved from suppliers.
• Act as contact person with suppliers, for all deliveries and any requests/questions related to the site plan.
• Take on the tasks of the Luminary Coordinator, if this role is vacant.

COMMITMENT
This is a 10-month commitment (September to June) for which:
• Attend local committee meetings (20 meetings).
• Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 8+ hours per month).
• Must be available over the event weekend (Friday night to Sunday).

Must be 18+ to apply and complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct.
