Relay For Life has united a collective of Canadians of all ages. They gather at a community space and take turns walking around a track or path to symbolize the perseverance and action needed to improve lives and change the future of cancer forever.
Relay for Life is a volunteer-led fundraising event. Volunteers are passionate and engage to make a difference for those of live with cancer! Join them to organize this unique event.
PROFILE REQUIRED
You are the ideal candidate for this role if you have:
• a positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation.
• a good network in your community.
• a strong interest on event planning.
• communication and interpersonal skills.
• time management skills.
RESPONSABILITES
As a volunteer committee member, you will be responsible for:
• Identify D-Day volunteer needs for the committee.
• Create a D-Day volunteer recruitment strategy to meet needs before, during and after the event.
• Contact recruited volunteers to provide them with a description of their role, as well as the start and end times of their shift.
• Welcome volunteers on D-day and direct them according to their shift.
• Ensure their well-being and meet their needs throughout the Relay.
• Have all D-Day volunteers fill out waivers and return them to the CCS (in the same shipment as registration and donation forms).
COMMITMENT
This is a 10-month commitment (September to June) for which:
• Attend local committee meetings (20 meetings).
• Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 8+ hours per month).
• Must be available over the event weekend (Friday night to Sunday).
