PG Tapestry Singers Choral Concert

PRINCE GEORGE Tapestry Singers invite you to attend their Choral Concert, “On the Sunny Side of the Street” on Saturday June 1st, at St. Mike’s Anglican Church, in Prince George.

“On the Sunny Side of the Street” is a concert that celebrates the joyful young voices of both the JUNIOR and SENIOR Tapestry Singers and their collaborations with several local professional musicians. Selections will range from contemporary to traditional and offer something for everyone. Always a sellout, Tapestry’s concerts present a gorgeous choral sound along with unique movement and choreography.

The concert will begin with a Land Acknowledgement and Blessing from Elder Melody Buzas, and then you will hear familiar melodies that include Be Our Guest, I’s the B’y, and yes! the jazz tune, On the Sunny Side of the Street. Guests will also hear lesser-known melodies, including Sing Gently, Vichten, and the beautiful Cree Lullaby, The Sleepy Song.

PG Tapestry Singers are thrilled to welcome back to their yearend concert, local Indigenous Artist, Shirley Babcock who will be “live painting” during the concert. Come early to enjoy the process. A new addition to our concert this year will be the Rath Rat Collective, who will be displaying their artwork in the reception hall. This is a concert not to be missed!

“On the Sunny Side of the Street” is an inviting choral concert that welcomes all members of the Prince George community.
