Volunteer Description

UNBC's undergraduate medical students need a variety of patient experiences to learn and practice basic examination and medical history taking skills. If you have had a recent hospital stay in the past year or two, we would like to hear from you. If you are healthy, with no medical issues or somewhere in between, we would also like to hear from you.

The sessions with our students take place on the 5th floor of the University hospital of Northern BC, Tuesday through Friday afternoons. The session times vary in length depending on the topic but an average time spent volunteering on any given day would be about 2 hours’ time.

If you are interested and want to know more, you can visit our Patient Programs Website or contact the Patient Program Supervisor, Kathy Dewijn.
